Accessibility
Our commitment to making this website, and The Woo Cycle itself, usable by everyone.

Our commitment
We want everyone to be able to use this website, whatever their circumstances. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
How accessible this site is
We have designed and tested the site so that:
- text and background colours meet the AA contrast requirements
- the whole site can be operated with a keyboard, and focus is always visible
- content is structured with proper headings and landmarks for screen readers
- images that carry meaning have text alternatives, and decorative images are hidden from assistive technology
- the layout reflows for small screens and for zoom up to 200 per cent
- animation is reduced or removed when your device requests less motion
- a skip link lets you jump straight to the main content
Known limitations
We are honest about where we fall short. We are aware that:
- the supporter lists on our Our Community page are embedded from Airtable, whose accessibility we do not control
- some PDF documents linked from the site may not be fully accessible
- the handwritten display typeface used for headings is decorative by design, and although body text uses a highly legible typeface, some readers may find the headings harder to read
We are working to improve these and would welcome your feedback.
Tell us about a problem
If you find something on this site that you cannot access, please tell us. Contact hello@periodreality.org and describe the page and the difficulty you had. We aim to reply within five working days.
If you need information from this site in a different format, such as large print, audio or an accessible document, please ask and we will do our best to provide it.
Enforcement
The Equality and Human Rights Commission enforces the Equality Act 2010. If you are unhappy with how we respond to your complaint, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) at equalityadvisoryservice.com.
Accessible formats of the book
Making The Woo Cycle itself available to every child matters to us just as much as the website. We are actively exploring British Sign Language, Braille, audio, large print and translated editions, and we are looking for partners to help make these happen. If you can help, please get in touch at thewoocycle@periodreality.org.
